Volucre XP System
Volucre can earn experience points (XP) for every piece of art or literature they are featured in. These points allow them to level up to another rank, which allows them to have better success rates in activities, more breeding slots, and other bonuses. Please see our Art Standards page for clear rules on how to achieve these points!
Visual Artwork
One Body Section = 1 XP
Depicting a second wing/leg = 1 XP per part
Flat Colored = 2 XP
Shaded = 4 XP
Simplified or Recolored Bases count for half of what the total points above would be.
Abstract Background: 1 XP
Simple Scenic Background: 3 XP
Complex Scenic Background: 6 XP
3D and Craftwork
3D Model or Physical Sculpt = 5 XP per body section
Added Color = 20 XP
Added Lighting (Digital 3D only) = 20 XP
Literature
50 Words = 1 XP
Word counts round down, so 154 words would equal 3 XP.
Animation
Simple Animation = 5XP
Complex Animation where pieces are tweened/moved = 10XP
Complex Animation where each frame is drawn separately is judged per frame, not per animation piece as a whole.
Simple 3D Animation = 20XP
Complex 3D Animation = 40XP
Additional Points
These points count for both visual artwork and literature!
Volucre and Handler Depicted = 2 XP
Other Player's Volucre or Handler Depicted = 2 XP
Other ARPG Creature = 1 XP
The above bonuses do not stack with each other, and each can only be claimed once per artwork regardless of the number of extra characters depicted.

Activity Prompt = 2 XP
Training or Event Prompt = 4 XP
Only one of these bonuses can be claimed per artwork.

Canon Depiction of Volucris and Volucre = 4 XP

Personal Work = 3 XP
Collaboration = 2 XP
The two above bonuses CAN stack, and do disappear if the volucre changes hands. Collaboration bonuses only count if the volucre's owner is a collaboration participant.

Activity Failure = 5 XP
Sometimes you will come up empty in an activity. When your volucre fails to return physical loot from an activity, they instead return experience and can use this knowledge to hone their skills. In order to collect bonus points for a failed roll, you must link the comment of the failed roll in your tracker with the artwork.
